# ⚠️ Status: Project Complete & Archived As part of the ACES project’s transition to the Academy Software Foundation (ASWF), this repository is now considered complete and has been archived. This repository will remain available in a read-only state to allow any legacy tools or build systems that depend on aces-container to continue functioning without interruption. Other ASWF-hosted projects have surpassed this repository's functionality and, more importantly, are actively maintained: OpenImageIO (OIIO): Provides native support for ACES2065-4 (SMPTE ST2065-4). rawtoaces: This ASWF project has transitioned to using OIIO's ACES2065-4 support in version 2+. It is strongly recommended that new projects do not implement aces-container and instead utilize OIIO or other active ASWF-maintained libraries for ACES support.
ACES Container Reference Implementation #
This folder contains a reference implementation for an ACES container file writer intended to be used with the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES). The resulting file is compliant with the ACES container specification (SMPTE S2065-4). However, there are a few things that are not demonstrated by this reference implementation.
