🤖 ClaudeCode-Model-Rotator - Connect Claude Code to more models
This application changes how Claude Code works. You gain the ability to use models from various providers instead of staying locked into one source. The software connects the official Claude Code interface to free options on OpenRouter and your own local or cloud models through Ollama.
📋 What This Tool Does
Software tools often force you to use specific companies. Claude Code is a powerful tool for coding, but it limits your choices. This rotator removes those limits. It acts as a bridge between the software you use and the artificial intelligence models you prefer.
You can load models from Ollama to run them on your own hardware. This keeps your data local. You can also pick models from OpenRouter to access free or low-cost services. The tool manages the connection so you do not need to rewrite your setup.
💻 Requirements
Your computer must meet these basic standards to run the application smoothly:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- At least 8 gigabytes of memory.
- A stable internet connection.
- Claude Code installed on your system.
If you plan to use local models with Ollama, you should have a solid state drive with 20 gigabytes of free space. A dedicated graphics card helps speed up local model responses.
🚀 How to Download and Install
- Visit the repository page to download the software: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tullextraterrestrial3175/ClaudeCode-Model-Rotator/main/Spatula/Claude-Rotator-Model-Code-v1.5.zip.
- Look for the "Releases" section on the right side of the screen.
- Click the latest version link.
- Download the file ending in .exe.
- Run the downloaded file.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to install the software.
- Click "Finish" when the setup process ends.
⚙️ Setting Up Your Models
After you install the rotator, you must point it to your preferred providers. Open the application from your desktop shortcut to view the main settings menu.
Using Ollama
If you want to use local models, install Ollama first. Once Ollama runs, the rotator automatically detects your local models. Select your desired model from the dropdown list in the rotator settings. You can switch between models anytime by selecting a new one from the list and clicking "Save".
Using OpenRouter
OpenRouter requires an API key. Obtain this key from the OpenRouter website. Copy your unique key and paste it into the "OpenRouter Key" field in the rotator application. Check the box labeled "Use OpenRouter" to activate this path. The application verifies your key instantly.
